Introduced in 2002, the groundbreaking design of the 38ZR Competition incorporated advanced hydrodynamics and the latest composite structural technology.

Going head to head on the APBA offshore race circuit against virtually every major manufacturer, the ZR immediately began proving its dominance.

The first ZR race boat entered into APBA competition was the “Team Donzi” Factory 2-class boat, #F2-93. As the Donzi factory entry, driver Doug Valentine and throttleman Mike Stancombe hit the water running, racking up first place wins in Cape Cod, Savannah, and Grand Bahama Island; along with second-place finishes in Daytona, Marathon, and Cleveland.

This much-heralded return to racing was a triumphant one, as Team Donzi won the APBA Factory 2 National Championship in its inaugural year, setting the stage for a multi-year winning streak by Donzi's dominating new racer.

Custom One on One training aboard your own boat or ours
With over twenty-six years of performance boat testing, offshore racing and law enforcement/military driver training. Douglas Valentine has developed a class curriculum that he has taught globally with the primary focus on control and boating safety. Our Courses cover:

The one-day class can be taught in your boat in your waters or you can attend the class through out the winter season in Sarasota Florida in our Donzi 38 ZRC.

The personalized program will cover all aspects of safe boating laws and equipment requirements, we will teach you the fundamentals needed to perfect docking techniques, mechanical systems review and of course offshore throttling and high speed maneuvering techniques.

Confidence and Knowledge - This class is designed to give you the confidence and knowledge that is needed not just to run your boat fast but to run your boat at speed safely in any conditions you may encounter. No matter what type of boating you do, after completing this program you will better understand the performance dynamics of your boat and will learn the techniques necessary to improve your level of skill and confidence while piloting your boat.

Your instructor will be ‘Douglas Valentine’ who’s resume is recognized globally and includes two A.P.B.A. National Championship titles, competed in the inaugural P-1 Offshore Championships in Europe, Special operations training for water deployed law enforcement and military personnel, Movie stunt work for the Miami Vice television series, Bad Boys and Bad Boys 2, Miami Vice movie, Hulk Hogan’s Thunder In Paradise, Face Off.

The techniques you will be taught are the same techniques I have taught several law enforcement agencies and military special operations personnel. Additionally, you will be taught the same techniques that have brought me championship winning success in the most extreme conditions of offshore racing. “Be safe, Be in control, Be educated”
